    Great tips, John! I’ll be forwarding this to my Nebraskan friend who is visiting over the summer. My advice for female pals tends to differ a bit as far as heels are concerned. I always recommend leaving the heels at home as I’ve witnessed plenty of non-Italian women take nasty spills in an effort to walk gracefully on cobblestone. I’m convinced that Italian and French women have a cobblestone gene that the rest of us are missing!

    Thanks for the comment, Joanna. Yes, you are probably a better source for women’s footwear than I am. Just from a male’s standpoint, we’re not nearly concerned about your comfort and safety. Ha! Take it as a compliment.
